UDC1700 Universal Digital Controller

The UDC1700 is a microprocessor-based 1/8 DIN controller that combines a high degree of functionality and reliability at low cost. It is fully dedicated to monitoring and controlling temperatures, pressures and levels in a wide range of applications such as environmental chambers, furnaces, ovens, packaging machines and other applications in plastics and the food and beverage industries. The small size makes it ideally suited for applications where panel space is at a premium, and where performance and flexibility are also important considerations. The large and easy-to-read dual four-digit display and tactile keypad make the UDC1700 easy to configure and use. Its outstanding flexibility enables you to configure the unit for many applications and change it if required.



  • NEMA 3/IP65 -The UDC1700 controller faceplate is rated NEMA 3/IP65 for protection against windblown dust, rain, snow and sleet.
  • Remote Setpoint Model -The UDC1700 controller is available with a second input that accepts either a linear or potentiometer input signal as a remote setpoint.
  • Dual Display -The UDC1700 has two four-digit displays with seven LED segments, each configurable for PV and SP (non-adjustable), PV and SP (adjustable), PV and Ramping SP and PV only.
  • PC Software Support -The UDC1700 controller is supported with PC software allowing you to quickly configure your device from your PC.
  • High Accuracy (0.1%) Universal Inputs -The UDC1700 controllers accepts seven different types of thermocouples, RTDs, current and voltage linear inputs. All inputs are configurable as standard.
  • Up to Three Outputs -The UDC1700 controller provides up to three output types (relay, SSR and linear) for time and current proportioning, duplex mode (heat/cool), PV or SP retransmission and alarms.
  • Manual/Automatic Mode -The UDC1700 provides bumpless transfer. In the manual mode the operator can directly control the output through the two front face keys (upper and lower keys).  The output value is monitored on the lower display.
  • Control Algorithms -Four control algorithms can be set up through the configuration menu: On/Off, PID, PD+MR and TPSC. The TPSC (Three Position Step Control) control algorithm is dedicated to control valve positioning without slidewire feedback from the motor shaft.
  • Dual Setpoint -The UDC1700 controller is available with a dual setpoint option. The current setpoint is selected by a digital input.
  • Communication -The UDC1700 controller is available with an optional RS-485 communication interface. It provides a link for up to 32 units and a host computer through ASCII or Modbus RTU protocol at up to 19200 baud.
